The proposed session will discuss one of the most important elements of any safety/security response protocol--the human element. Schools must develop functional and effective crisis response plans which must be incorporated into realistic scenario training. Emphasis will be placed upon the cognitive neurological response to life-threatening events and perceptual distortions, as well as methods of overcoming these obstacles.
