In October of 2007, Harrold ISD instituted the Guardian Plan a policy enabling approved employees to carry concealed handguns. This policy was the first of its kind in the nation, and presently, at least 200 Texas school districts have passed similar policies. Superintendent, David Thweatt, will explain the Guardian Plan, the thinking process that led to the policy, and the subsequent developments over the past decade.
